ARTIST’S STATEMENT AND BIO

The act of making at is ingrained in me and is one of the most important aspects of my life. The excitement starts by deciding on a subject and composition, followed by the selection of colors and values. My work is a variety of everyday life. I look for the way that light hits on my subjects, as the day goes on as well as fleeting expressions on faces. It makes me wonder what they are thinking about at that particular moment.

I usually paint things that are exuding life with an occasional Still Life put in that mix. My favorites are people, animals and flowers.

Ive been influenced by many artists over the years who I have been fortunate to study with . I’ve also been inspired by artists who have work in galleries, museums, art shows and art publications plus my critique group Art and Soul.

My philosophy of art is when life gets dicey ( and it always does ) ———

AT LEAST I CAN STILLL PAINT!
